Plant Medicine spoke to me after my sister’s death from cancer in 1984. I knew there had to be better methods of healing or at least a better way to die.
During my darkest moments I had an epiphany.
In the home where I had lived there was a City Ordinance against weeds. Not very happy I had received a warning about my yard. I heard a very clear voice speak to me, “ If you knew what we were good for you wouldn't hate us so much”.
At that moment everything changed for me.
Instead of destroying them I became determined to discover what they were and what they could do. I became empowered and used that strength to stand up and speak out for these wonderful healing plants we have been given. So, against City Ordinance I refused to destroy my “Weeds” and I stood up to City Officials.
I have long since left the city and moved to the country where I care take “Rescued” plants. Some of them become medicine.
